A Tribute to Motown

Wow it’s the 50th anniversary of Motown this year so I thought it would be a great idea to infuse Jazz in the Vines with the music from this great record label. From 1961 to 1971, Motown had 110 top 10 American hits, and artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Jackson 5, were all signed to Motown labels. I’m not the only one to think this is a great idea, James Morrison has been incorporating Motown hits in his performances for years as has Kate Ceberano and Doug Parkinson. It’s great to have them all here at Jazz in the Vines to perform some soul, r&b and, of course, Jazz for us this year.

Come by yourself or grab some friends and join in this party that we call Jazz in the Vines, come in fancy dress (plenty do), bring a blanket or a deck chair, settle back and relax or dance till you drop, the choice is yours. One thing is for certain, there will be plenty of great Hunter Valley food and wine to enjoy, lots of people to meet and good time to enjoy. If it’s your first time check out the video at the bottom of the page or the photos galleries from previous years to get a feel for what we are all about.

See you on October 30th 2010!
